DUBLIN

California's East Bay area is home to the city of Dublin, one of California’s fastest-growing regions.

Welcome to Dublin

A thriving city with high-end homes just east of the San Francisco Bay

California's East Bay area is home to the city of Dublin, one of California’s fastest-growing regions. Unlike its Irish namesake, Dublin is a landlocked crossroads with convenient highway access to major cities like San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland. Dublin is highly convenient and a destination unto itself, offering residents a panoply of parks, restaurants, and venues for shopping and entertainment.
In response to its rapid growth, developers continue to build residential areas and urban centers throughout Dublin, offering buyers alternatives to the modern residences of central and east Dublin. In contrast, the city’s west side is suffused with older properties. Commuting professionals and families increasingly prefer Dublin for its excellent schools, thriving communities, and reputation as one of California’s best places to live.

What to Love

  • The famed St. Patrick's Day parade
  • Rich history with 40 years as a city
  • A vibrant, dynamic community
  • A growing hub for entertainment and experiences
  • Proximity to San Francisco
  • Top-rated schools
  • Easy transportation via the BART system

Local Lifestyle

Dublin delivers its residents beautiful days for outdoor activities, such as picnics in the parks and hiking to the west and northeast. The city is ideal for those who love scenic surroundings or play golf frequently. Besides recreation, many Dublin residents commute to work throughout the Bay Area — a trip made convenient by the intersection of I-580 (east-west) and I-680 (north-south). Plus, the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system is a go-to option for easy transportation. There are two BART stations: the Dublin/Pleasanton and West Dublin/Pleasanton stations, providing transit on the Blue Line to popular stops like the Oakland International Airport, San Francisco’s Financial District, and Daly City.
In addition to its convenient location, Dublin offers a pristine real estate scene. If you are in town to scout out Dublin real estate, you likely will see multi-story homes conforming to Modern Spanish Colonial Revival, Californian Ranch, and contemporary architectural styles.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

If you’re hungry, Dublin features a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. Yafa Hummus is famous for its eponymous hummus, available in three flavors: regular, spicy, and pesto (topped with olive oil and chickpeas). Almost all of the dishes at Yafa are vegetarian or vegan and equally original. Dublin's Burma! Burma! is another must-try. The restaurant features a modern setting with elegant pendant lights, an industrial ceiling, and paintings of Myanmar, formerly Burma, on the walls.
When in the mood for some sushi, visit Amakara or Yanagi, both on Dublin Boulevard. Amakara is a full-service sushi bar serving Japanese cuisine, and Yanagi stands out for its sake. Market Tavern is ideal for bar food and is located in the Hacienda Crossings Shopping Center, so you can knock out a few errands before dinner. Market Tavern also sells prepared meals, fresh bread, and wine to-go. Pacific Catch is another Dublin favorite where locals gather to watch the game and enjoy Pacific Rim-style seafood.

Things To Do

In Dublin Hills Regional Park, there are approximately 800 acres of open space spread between two available land complexes. If you enjoy hiking, biking, or horseback riding, you'll love exploring the nearly 654 acres here amid the landscape of stunning rolling hills and narrow canyons. Dublin Heritage Park & Museums is an excellent place to learn more, as the region is full of historical significance. There are many beautiful scenic spots where you can take photos or enjoy a picnic.

If you have kids, you will appreciate Emerald Glen Park, a family-friendly creekside park near the center of Dublin. The 40-acre park contains nature trails, facilities for various sports, a kids’ splash pad, and two pools. Once acquainted with the park, check out Picnic Flix, the free onsite summer movie series complete with food trucks and concessions.

Of course, a city called Dublin has an annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration worthy of its name. The holiday includes a parade for revelers of all ages, Irish folk music, an international food court, and a marketplace with over 250 shopping booths. The rest of the year, you can visit the Dublin Heritage Park & Museums, which illustrates the history and foundation of Dublin, Calif. Bring the kids to the Dublin Farmers’ Market, which runs from April to September and features an exceptional array of fresh foods and creative goods.
